COUNTRY GARDEN CLUB OF WESTON RECOGNIZED FOR HISTORIC PRESERVATION AND BEAUTIFICATION EFFORTS AT THE GOLDEN BALL TAVERN MUSEUM

The Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts has recognized our long-standing partner, the Country Garden Club of Weston and its work on behalf of The Golden Ball Museum, by naming the Club as its 2020 Award Winner in the category of Historic Preservation. This Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts award recognizes efforts to “preserve the past in the context of the present” at historically significant landmarks across the Commonwealth.

For over 50 years the Country Garden Club has decorated our museum for the holidays, providing a visual feast for visitors, members and guests of our Annual Holiday Open House which is traditionally held on the first Saturday of December. In 2020, due to Covid, the Club decorated the exterior of the Museum for the first time, creating a dazzling sight along the historic Boston Post Road.  In December 2021 they are once again adorning the exterior with festive decorations.

The Trustees and Staff of the Golden Ball would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations and thanks for the Club’s many years of service and generosity to the Museum and to the community. The Club’s efforts enhance our mission of preservation, education and community engagement in a most meaningful, unforgettable and visually compelling way.
