EXPLORING THE BEAUTY AND ARTISTRY OF ANTIQUE ORIENTAL RUGS AND BAGS
We are pleased to present a lecture by Helen and Douglas Stock of Douglas Stock Gallery in South Natick. The lecture will be held at the Weston Public Library from 7 - 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25th. About the lecture::
An oriental carpet is jewelry for your floor. Learn how to choose and care for these beautiful and useful items. Helen and Douglas will explain how they evaluate and select antique rugs and bags, show rugs from different regions, comparing and contrasting the variety of rugs as well as sharing some of the history of oriental rugs, how they are used today and how to care for them. There will be rugs in the room to allow attendees to get the real 'feel' of the subject!

Helen and Douglas are members of the Art and Antiques Dealers League of America based in NYC with an international membership of top antiques specialists. It is the oldest antiques organization in America and is part of CINOA, a top international antiques organization. It is comprised of about 60 of the top American antiques dealers in a wide range of specialties. Douglas was a past board member and has also been on the Winter Antiques Show carpet vetting committee at the Park Avenue Armory, NYC for many years, including as chairman. It is considered the best show in the country. Douglas Stock Gallery has an international reputation with clients coast to coast and are celebrating 40 years in business!
In addition to being a nationally regarded expert in antique oriental rugs, Helen Stock is also a long-time member and former president of the Country Garden Club of Weston and shares her deep love of flower arranging with many including her contribution of many hours, over many years, to the annual decorating of the Golden Ball Tavern for the holidays, and by representing the club on multiple occasions at Art In Bloom at the MFA .
